The Festivus decorations are now packed away and all your grievances have all been aired. The words to Auld Lang Syne have once again been forgotten. Now its time to turn your attention to matters of utmost importance.
The Suds Council Executive Steering Committee requests the honor of your presence on Friday, February, 21, 2014 at 6:00PM-ish sharp. Turnout continues to grow so this year we are moving the event just a tad bit south of the Brickhouse to
Millers Ale House, 2300 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA.
The winds of change have blown through Riesentoter. To some they are as pleasing as a cool spring breeze while sipping a mint julep on the front porch swing; to others they have been as appealing as a tempest. Change is something to embrace, not feared, and the Suds Council Program Committee welcomes change as well.
For decades now we have focused our world class lecture series on business, economics and government. Our second change (moving the location was the first one, try to keep up) for this year will be a departure from that time honored tradition and focus on the arts.
Yes, culture has arrived at Riesentoter. This year’s panel discussions and lectures will include learned experts from the arts. Topics will range from Salvatore Dali’s most controversial works to Italian Renaissance and Baroque Bronze Sculptures. And always remember, as Patrick Star so aptly reminded us whilst engaged in high society social settings, “when in doubt, pinky out”. We’re gonna be classy with a “K”!
Really? No. Actually it’s just a bunch of car guys (and the occasional car gal) sitting around drinking beer, shooting the bull, and admiring the local scenery.
As it has been for eons past so it shall be for time eternal, this conflagration is officially an unofficial RTR event. The RTR Executive Board has therefore most appropriately provided a budget of absolutely nothing for this most auspicious of occasions. So bring your drachmas for libations and nutrition. Shoot me an e-mail at your leisure so I can reserve us enough seats or if you prefer to stand don’t.
Your faithful servant,
Mike Kling
