I need a few reccomendations.  I'm on my way up with Schattenbaum in a couple weeks.  Not picky, but clean and close to the track would be nice.

Thanks

Seneca Lodge. Just ask for the motel, not the cabins. Clean, near the track and walking distance to the best bar (Seneca Lodge bar, say "hi" to Bret) and a very good steak restaurant (Seneca Lodge restaurant). The motel rooms are a bit rustic, but the bar is really wonderful.

If you do not drink or eat, look into the Falls Motel down the hill. A bit farther from the track but newer than the Seneca Lodge with friendly owners.

There are also many B&Bs, but the breakfast ususally starts after you'll be at the track.

Some B&Bs will try to accommodate early departures -- at least by packing something that you can run off to the track with. I'm staying a bit up 14 at Reading House B&B (because this time, in addition to me and my son, David, we'll have my wife and her father), and their breakfast is served beginning at 8:00 but they promised to pack something substantial for David and me to dash off with.

I'm surprised that Seneca was booked on the weekdays that Schattenbaum is running, and I even think there are some spots available still for that event. There are many that really like the Falls.

I registered early today for our event at the Glen at the end of July and I'm excited about getting back to the Glen!

being the young, tastless person I am...are there any non-motels there or is that my only option?

also, where are people staying for the RTR 'Glen DE? Same two places?

I'll be at the Seneca Lodge for our Glen DE. It's rustic, but I really like it.

Actually it wasn't exactly full, but all the non-smoking rooms were gone.  I'll still have to swing by the tavern for a beer and a steak
