Autocross: Hershey CPA Mother's Day

The Central PA Porsche Club (CPA) is holding an autocross event Sun. May 11.  Details can be found at http://www.cpa-pca.org/  under events.

This would be a non-championship event.  Anyone planning on attending?  I'm going to try, but won't be sure until Sat. eve.

It's a small event (60 cars max) on a large course.  Should be done by 1:00 PM.  Weather looks good.

Ended up going at the last minute.  Weather was good.  Got 6 runs.  The course is relatively open in comparison to Warminster.  June 8 event will be fun.

Cpa-PCA usually holds a very good autoX. I never minded taking the trip up there to go play on that parking lot. I don't even bother bring up the May event at the dinner table because it has always been on Mother's Day. I could never understand why they do that every year!

It was well attended with a good cross section of Porsches, BMW 328s (thank God I was faster than 2 of them), Subaru, Honda, Lotus, Formula Ford? & others.

The Mother's day thing is tough.  I understand the logistical diddiculties.  Fortunately, I discussed these plans well in advance with my wife, who is now beginning to understand the addiction, I mean  er um sport.   

The event was very low key.  No helmet check and  no cone explanation at the driver's meeting (might have helped).  Everyone was very friendly.  It would have been nice to commiserate with some RTR members.

They have a HUGE autocross lot! I'm jealous.
