Thanks for Craig, for the photos, and thanks to Craig and the other RTR members who came out to coach in car and staff the program. Even with a Club Race at Lime Rock and a DE at Summit Point on the same weekend RTR enabled us to get to a 1:1 student to coach ratio. I'll let Craig and V tell you directly how their day went, but mine was deeply satisfying.

Most students came because a parent forced them. My student last weekend was bright, but fundamentally uninterested. Even after six hours of formal, in-car training over the road and six months of practice on a permit (as required by NJ), at the outset he had no concept of weight transfer or vehicle dynamics--either theoretical or practical. He did not know how to check tire pressure or find what the tire pressure should be, or how to check coolant, brake fluid or oil levels. By the end of the day he knew all of that, and more, and had filled his tires to 33 PSI checked with the Michelin tire pressure gauge provided to each student.

Your RTR fellow members did some real good last Saturday!

Chris I tell you what.... this was by far the most fun and satisfying thing Ive done.

My student only had her license for six months . She was scared to push hard on the gas and scared to push hard on the brake .
By the end of the day I had her dancing with the ABS , catching the rear end when it stept out and nurturing and calming front end push.

Funny thing was I had never done anything like this before and I was As nervous as she was In the beginning ( I Didn't let it show) .

After A pep talk from "V" it was on !

When is the next one ? Im in.....!

Awesome job everyone! Banana

I was a little under the weather and sorry that I missed this one but hope to be out to the next - helping with non instructor type stuff like registration and cone chasing!

This is a great program and I hope to get some of my cousins and coworkers kids signed up for a future street survival.
