I set up my G2X for the GT3 a while ago, and now I'm creating a new configuration file to deal with the Miata. In doing that, I'm finding updates to the software that allow predictive lap timing (the display shows the difference in time for the current lap from the fastest lap of that session--very useful for qualifying) and some other features I did not know where there.

I sure don't know all that can be known about this, but I think there are others in RTR who have this same data logger and might like to get together to explore our setups and exchange notes on how we use it. I could get a conference room at the office to which we could connect our laptops to put the displays on a big screen for discussion.

Anyone interested?

Fantastic idea, Chris.

Also, an RTR "clinic" on data loggers in general would prove to be extremely useful, as well.

How about beer and wine and a big screen at my house. Smile  Cigars are welcome on the porch Larry.  I have some Cervelli data from Summit to add from last year.

That sure beats an office conference room. I'll bring some data and wine.

I did the firmware upgrade that allows predictive lap timing. Last weekend at the Glen I found that VERY useful. Catching a glimpse of that data while on the track gave me tangible, real-time evidence of where a different line helped or hurt. It will also be really useful in qualifying for a race to help me know when traffic, or an error, has blown any chance of a good time on a lap, allowing me to let others by without cost and concentrating my mind for the next lap.

When is good for you, Bob?

Could a couple data experts give short talks during an upcoming Club meeting?  As a conehead, data would help me understand what happens on track, but only if it is good data and presented properly.  (A combination track map and traction circle would be a good start.)

Before buying, it would be great to hear about the different options from people who actually use them.  Thanks.

Time to think about this again.

Last weekend I spent a day at a seminar given by Roger Caddell (Andrew's dad; http://www.victorylanedata.com) on interpreting data. I took several pages of notes and learned a lot.

Anyone interested in getting together to share notes and data?
