We made reservations at the Sleep Inn in Dannville. Not fancy but have a VIR rate of 79.00.  Closest Hotel to the track except if you stay at the lodge or the garage suite's at the track.  They are usually booked early but you have a shot before the event registration opens. Info for all lodging is on the Zone 2 web site.

You can also stay in South Boston (Rt. 58 and 15).  It is further east than Danville, so you don't have to drive as far to get there (which is nice after driving 6 plus hours to get there), plus it is on the way home if you need to check out on the way back and/or spend another night.  The track is about equidistant from both.  I've stayed in Danville and South Boston.....there is probably a little more "action" in Danville.  It's all good either way

If history is a guide, you do not need to sign up immediately. Everyone does but dropouts are then continuous and later applicants are accepted on a rolling basis. Also, the higher run groups filled much faster than the lower groups. Of course, as they used to say at Lehman Bros., past performance is no guarantee...

Speaking of Lehman Brothers, here's a picture of all their laid-off employees waiting in the UNEMPLOYMENT LINE !!!
