Does one have to be signed up for the DE event first prior to getting your car inspected? (trying for Summit Point this time)

You can have your car go through tech for an event even if you are wait listed for the event.

For that matter you can have your car go through tech even if you are not going to the event if you just want it gone over.
1995 993 - Track car
1994 965 - Race car
2002 Boxster - Her car but I get to drive it
2008 Cayenne S - Her daily driver
2006 Ford F-250 crew cab diesel - Porsche Suppport Vehicle & Tow truck

what's the rule on pre-tech.... has to be done within a couple weeks of each event??

Must be within 2 weeks of the event the tech is for.

Lainey, can't quote the rules here but you can't get teched for two events at the same time as as you might wear brakes pads or tires or other items at the first event and they might not be safe for the following event.
