Thanks, Larry (and George). I'm now a believer in Nu Finish. I found some of it in my garage, and tried it. (Like soon-ignored new year's resolutions, in the past I have sometimes purchased assorted cleaning paraphernalia -- polishes, polishers, waxes, etc. -- when I've purchased a "nice" car, and then shortly thereafter, when faced with the reality of rolling up my sleeves with a bucket of suds, concluded "it's just a car" and ignored any cleaning. During one of those phases I must have read Consumer Reports and purchased, among other things, Nu Finish.) Anyway, I tried it on a few spots, and it certainly seemed to do the job. I had some initial reservations, despite my cavalier attitude about my car's appearance, because it was a "polish" -- which implies (at least to me) some abrasive action, however modest. But if it's primarily recommended and used as a wax, I figured I shouldn't be concerned, and the results seem to bear that out.

Now if I can only find an equally handy solution to the brake dust that stubbornly continues to adhere to my wheels after I've applied and hosed off some regular wheel cleaner.

" DRYWASH" is the bomb for your car. Put it on before you hit the track and us it when you come off. Used it for 10+ years now on all the vintage race cars. Rubber comes right off every time.

He explained what product worked best at removing "tire boogers" (rubber/tar), as well as what product to use AFTER they are removed to help prevent them from sticking in the future. I do not recall the name of these 2 products, though I do remember he said they were available from your local motorcycle dealer. If you contact Tim, I'm sure he'll be able to give you the names of these 2 products.

I contacted Tim, who was kind enough to offer the following advice:

I have been using the Meguiar’s Detailers Series All
Purpose Cleaner
http://www.autodetailingsolutions.net/d10332.html
This place has the best deal. I use their spray
bottle and cut it 50/50.
Tire stuff falls off after soaking a few minutes.
When it is clean I use Honda spray polish from the
motorcycle store. It leaves the surface slick and shiny,
very easy to clean again. Spray in suspension components and
rockers as well as the front and rear valances.
P21S gel wheel cleaner is the best, but the Meguiar’s
Hot Rims (purple) is a good value.
What wheels do you have that are stained. sometimes the
stain will come out, but you may lose the anodized finish.

I discovered another product to take tire buggers off the car. Eagle One Clear Nanowax Spray took them off with very little effort.  Washed the car and then applied this wax.  Getting the car ready for its appearance at the Rolex 24 hour race at Daytona.  Will be in the Porsche Corral. No not driving the car from Pa to Florda.  Trailering it down and then driving it the 30 minutes from my mothers house to Daytona.  Then off to the Sebring Club race the week after to collect a whole new set of buggers. The race is January 30th and 31st. Koni cup runs on the 29th. I bought Champion Club tickets since this is not something I do often and wanted it to be a special experience. http://www.daytonainternationalspeedway....-Club.aspx. Let me know if you decide to go. I am sure there will be other RTR folks there.
