They were seperated before, but it used to be blue, white, green... rather than green, white, blue... this way I might have to miss my last run on Saturday to have time to set up for the MAW auction... and blue has the last run on Sunday evening now... instead of Green! Wet surface will offer a great time to practice car control skills. Unfortunately, looks like the temperature will be in the 40s with real feel going down to the 30s. Winter coat time.

What tires will you guys and gals be running on, for this weather condition? Wet race tire? Summer tires? All season?

If it's under 50 degrees which it looks like it will be most of the day, I'd suggest all season tires.  Especially if it's going to be damp, like on Friday at least.

R-compounds might be ok but it's sure going to be hard to get heat into them.  In my experience Michelin Pilot Sport Cups are just about useless when it's cold and damp.

Hoosier a6's are the r-compound of choice!

I'm bringing race tires for the dry weather and then Pilot Sport Cups which are supposed to be pretty good in the wet, so hopefully I'll still be able to have a good time if it rains! (I'm trying to be positive even though I am DREADING the idea of rain all weekend)...

And I'm NOT driving the MINI this weekend so getting used to a new car in the rain should be fun...

I think they are terrible in the rain, they will never get heat into them.

haha of course Darren... right as I say I have Pilot Sport Cups if it is cold and damp you tell me they are useless if it is cold and damp!!

I haven't used them yet but the website says, "A race-inspired tread compound results in enduring performance characteristics in both wet and dry conditions, with consistent lap times over the entire life of the tire."

Maybe at my speed it doesn't matter though! I'm probably at about .0001% of the performance level you are at

Darren is right.  The MPSC tires are great tires, but not so great when it's cold.

Very difficult to get any kind of heat into them, particularly the way the weekend
weather forecast is looking.

This is going to be like the March VIR event all over again.  Maybe a little warmer.  Wear lots of layers!  It took me five to get warm.

I ran R-compounds (Toyo R888) at VIR in the wet and cold low 40's.  And they were better than street tires.  I was surprised.  Maybe with a season worth of wear on them will change things.

You'll be OK if you're not down to the tread wear marks.
