NJMP has recently been sued by an organization named "Track Racket" started by a group of Millville residents who are complaining about track noise. Yesterday, as part of the NJMP bankruptcy proceedings a settlement was made with the organization. The article stated that part of the settlement is that NJMP will pay $81K of "Track Rackets" legal fees, curb noise and "narrow" its operating hours. Specifically NO engines can be started before 8:30 AM and no "races" can start before 9 AM. Three races a year are exempt from this rule. It is not clear as to whether DE events are subject to this new rule. In addition to this the PA system needs to be changed and sound monitors are to be set up adjacent to the track and adjacent to select residences near the track. The track also must begin negotiations to develop commercially feasible ways to reduce sound.
I am not sure what it means for PCA events; however we will know by spring. I will keep you posted if I see any additional press.:X
