Tony, I am saying not to hold them after the faster drivers leave, get them off the grid asap.  Sending the solo's out a 1/3 away around the track before commencing the slower cars will not produce any space.  Tail end of the pack will be in T3 by the time solo's come out of hogpen.   I would estimate a lap time disparity of 20 to 25 secs between faster and slower cars.  That means working through the field twice a session depending on the bottle necks.

I expect they are going to allow us to give passing to students on: front straight, maybe T3-T4,  before the bridge , back straight.    Red/black should include at least 3 more areas to pass;  roller coaster downhill, T2-T3, T10-T11, and after the bridge into the uphill.

A lot of this depends on temps.  With no tire grip we could all be turning slow laps. I saw a friend of mine today that is an SCCA driver and when I told him VIR mid March he laughed and asked if I had studded tires mounted on my track rims.Big Grin

Anyone interested in sharing a room for the VIR event?

I have a room at the Danville west, which is near all the restaurants and includes a nice daily continental breakfast at 6:00 AM.

At 6am I'm swapping tires & bleeding brakes. Big Grin

I'm all set at the Sleep Inn - plus I stink and the end of the day and I snore (but it does not bother me)

Thanks. Good stuff Mark.

How did that cooler make it past tech?

PS- I realize it's a cooling system for the driver, it just was moving around a lot.
