WGI Convoy

Once-again time to head to WGI with RTR. Over the past few years we have run a group up to WGI assembling at the Allentown Service Plaza on 476 Northbound. Google says its 3.5 hours so be there at 1:30 PM Thursday and we will roll out at 2:00. Allentown participants join up at the Allentown on ramp. If you plan to participate, while not required, PM me with your cell and I will make up at phone list to distribute before we roll out. I look forward to seeing everyone again.

Ok, for us newbies what is the WGI convoy?

RTR every year has a three day DE event at Watkins Glen International Raceway in NY State. A storied racetrack with a fabulous history. Some of us that participate and live in NW Chester County, Berks, Montgomery, and the Lehigh Valley, meet and drive up to WGI together on the day before the event. There are anywhere between 1and10 participants in the convoy. It's supposed to be safer in numbers, although I wasn't one of these, there have been rumors of travel times less than those published by mapping programs. Some cars are trailered and some cars are driven.

Everyone have a great weekend while I'll be laid up at home. Took a bad fall Saturday morning and have seriously brushed ribs. I won't be joining you this year. First miss since 2008. Love the Glen. Hopefully well enough for Metro-NY
