How best to 'video' your autox run??

I'm always up for playing with toys.

Hey, what they did was easy. I can do that in my sleep. The hardest part of making their video was finding two runs that were closely synchronized.

One day I'll show you my network of macs and you'll realize that I live for stuff like that.

Talking of being geordie, (for you yanks, a geordie is the UK equivalent of a Yankee - ie from the NE part of England)  here a photo of my registration plate on the jeep -

equivalent plate of G30RDY (which isn't even spelt right) was recently listed for 7k pounds ($12K) whereas this is much better and only cost $29! Even if we go home at some point in the future, I will have this plate forever - even if it becomes a piece of art on the wall

my fastest raw time was very close to Josh's fastest raw time. We both coned on these runs, but it is interesting to see where each of us gained and lost time on each other. I have to point out that my raw time was a 57.853 to Josh's 57.964... just because I don't get to do that very often :p

BTW, our cars are very similar for those who aren't familiar. It is the same chassis. Josh's car has slightly wider rt615s, suspension bushings, and a better limited slip, while mine has more whp (turbo...so a little lag) and adjustable dampers.

How about a translation _to_ English, yeh? So both you and STEVE are from sunny England? I've been there a couple times, went to Goodwood- great racing on the track (the europeans seem to push those vintage cars really hard ) You should have seen the parking lots, almost as many cool cars as were in the event

I think I saw you attend the one of the PCA AX sessions earlier in the year. I was impressed with your driving. A friend who was with me commented that the Rabbit was the perfect car for AX and made a comment about the car often making turns on three wheels... I think he compared it to a dog somehow, but thankfully I don't remember his exact phrasing. 50mph at Warminster is pretty impressive. I'm really sorry that I missed it!

Thanks for the link to the SCCA video discussion. Interesting to know what he was using to edit his software. As i said in previous posts, I do all my editing on a mac. I mostly use iMovie, but have used Final Cut Express also. I found that I didn't use most of the pro features on final Cut, so eventually went back to iMovie and loaded it up with plugins to allow me to do the editing tricks that I needed. Producing simple AX movies like the ones I posted and the one you posted really takes only 5 minutes (of actual work, as opposed to rendering time for the effects) using iMovie. I don't get to make enough movies nowadays, so I'm hoping that AX will provide some good opportunities. I'm looking forward to havig some fun with it.

As for the english comments....

Steve is WAY more english than I am, although, many english people would dispute that he is english. Needless to say, that's why we both have fast cars in our blood.

Steve is still fresh off the boat. I've been here several years and am probably more accurately described as Mid-Atlantic. I left the country as soon as I had completed all the education I could take and I've been here ever since.

The Geordie is specific to the Newcastle area. I'm from Yorkshire. Both areas have incomprehensible accents. It took my wife 3 years to understand a word my family members said. Needless to say, I don't have that accent.

That was my husband John... I would have driven that day, but my 2.5 year old son decided to get up in the middle of the night for a few hours... I was so tired I could hardly hold my head up makes it hard to get on your [i]game face....

I know that one... I don't think I've slept in the last 11 months since our son arrived. I was away on business Friday and Saturday... it was sooooo nice to get some sleep. It used to be that I didn't sleep well in hotel beds... if Friday night was anything to go by I'm looking forward to my next trip in a few weeks.

Anyway - I guess I liked how your husband was driving then.

It can be tough. When first arrived here the first thing I realized was that Brits spoke way faster than Americans... I would say something and see a blank expression on the face of the person I was talking to and I'd have to repeat my comments again speaking more slowly and clearly.... hence the reason why my accent and intonation has changed in the time I've been here. Thankfully I was young enough to adapt pretty well... two countries separated by a common language. I dread to think about the portugese language/cultural barriers.
