Hope anyone knows of a shop to do some of the heavier work [1999 Boxster 2.5L], other than maintenance.

Used to use German Auto Specialists, but they're too far.
Foreign car service I used last, although close is more into BMW's and Mini's.

Need a shop with which I can truly talk Porsches.

This response is a bit after the fact but better late then never and for future reference:
Automotive Performance Solutions in Pennington, NJ.
It's about 15 minutes from Langhorne.
Steve Erickson is a former Porsche Racing Crew chief. He's probably forgotten more them most guys know. And he's a really nice guy.
He was actually involved with Al Holbert when he set the land speed record at Bonneville Salt Flats in a 928.
