Nice race Todd! I don't think I could have held you off in those conditions indefinitely. It's interesting watching my wet/defensive line -- during the race it was more of a tactical decision than a strategy, every turn was different every lap, and every lap was faster.
What may not be obvious by watching it was that the braking zone, and really the whole T1, which is slippery anyway, was super wet. How you managed to out-brake me (8:25) and stay on the track I'm not quite sure You get real close to the edge and actually hydroplane on a puddle it looks like at the edge of the track. The outside of the turn was very wet and honestly I was hoping you'd slide right off. I think that's one case where the (heavy) weight of the car actually helps you.
My car ran very well all weekend -- I'm having a tough time in the class though because I'm down on power. The front runner is making 178 fwhp or so and I'm at 141 fwhp. So every straight I lose ground -- some of it I can compensate with exit speed, but that only lasts so long. The big straights at VIR are a problem. I'll have a similar problem at the Glen
Great race weekend! Congrats to Jason for completing his first race weekend without incident and with great finishes both days!
