Anything that slows things down are good for instructing I guess. I agree about going off after T3, though I remember it being pretty flat there but it didn't seem like a place I wanted go to off....
The chicane is successively decreasing radius right? I think that's why I don't like it, any chain of successively decreasing radius turns I can never figure out whether to go full throttle to every apex or take some kind of "smooth" line. Jefferson backwards is the perfect example of this. I don't know I just want to "power out!" and can't. The esses at Lightning are also like this.
