Update after MAW at Thunderbolt:
Everything held together very nicely, no major issues, which was essentially what I was trying to prove. I couldn't get any speed going whatsoever because of the cold/wet conditions and the tires I was running. I had bought 2 year old leftover Hoosier Grand Am tires. Between them being essentially endurance slicks and so very hard, and them being old, I could never get any temperature into them whatsoever! It was like driving on ice!
On Sunday I drove a bit and it felt very good, but I finally parked the car because I didn't like catching it every turn. I had massive power on oversteer and massive corner entry understeer.
The understeer was because I was running the H&R big sway bars that were from my old suspension setup and the front bar is gigantic and non-adjustable.
I'll be back out in 2 weekends with NASA Northeast at Thunderbolt with new Hoosier slicks and stock GT3 (same as the GT3 Cup) sway bars. I also managed to remove about 36 lbs from the car. My weight at Thunderbolt (with me in it) was 2908 lbs and I need to get to 2745 lbs (163 lbs too heavy).
Removed:
Passenger door bar and cutting out door panel - 8 lbs
Remove rear crash bar and mounts - 20 lbs
Remove rear heat shielding - 8 lbs
I still have 127 lbs to lose but at this point its a few lbs here a few lbs there. I'm going to need to do a carbon fiber hood I think.
