All right, I swore that I would not jump back in, but I feel I must.
There seems to be two "rules" as to how the right wing interprets things. It is apparent that they have trouble with common sense, and meeting others in the middle. To wit:
I think it is really time to get some sane centrists back into the political arena.
There seems to be two "rules" as to how the right wing interprets things. It is apparent that they have trouble with common sense, and meeting others in the middle. To wit:
- There is no such thing as "Po-Choice". By adopting this label, the right can only see one as being "pro-abortion". Their minds can not discern the concept of an individual making a choice for him(her)self without excesive societal intervention/judgement.[/*]
- Any and all Social Programs will only affect the bottom rung of society "who just don't want to work anyway". In the world of a right-winger, nobody ever gets sick, laid off, looses a family member, or whatever. In short, they seem to take a Hobbesian, vs Calvinist approach to life. See...when you are a right winger, life does not throw any curve balls your way. But in the case it does, then you are more than equipped to "pull yourself up by the bootstraps".
I think it is really time to get some sane centrists back into the political arena.
