This is nice Mike, way to stay on the issue and the facts regarding health care reform and avoid individual attacks.
You are free to look through this entire string and notice three things. 1. I have never attacked anyone individually; 2. I focus on the elements and consequences of the legislation rather than spewing unsupported rhetoric and generalizations so as not to come off like a senseless drone who merely spews what he hears on FoxNews (I'm pretty sure I understand the issues more than 99% of the minority of Americans who are agaisnt healthcare reform; and, 3. I have addressed the tort reform issue.
Moreover, the Replicans argue that the hc reform legislation should be repealed because it infringes upon states rights. Where does the federal government get the authority to infring upon states' rights with respect to tort reform? The federal government does not even have jurisdiction over non statutory tort claims unless they involve parties from two different states.
Finally, fiscally I am quite conservative. I even worked on the campaign to have Sam Katz elected as mayor of Phila. I believe we are overtaxed, and the government overspends. I believe the retirment age should be increased to at least 70. Good luck getting that legislation passed without having term limits. Nobody will vote for it. I support healthcare reform because like education and social security, I believe it is important and necessary. I do not support a number of other costly unproductive programs, and I believe the needed programs need to work more efficiently.
