They actually worked OK - snow varied from light to heavy flurries and mostly melted on contact with the track. It was windy and between the traffic and the wind the water never built up into puddles or streams so the R6's worked with caution. We ran first 3 30 minute sessions in these conditions, then suddenly the sun came out and we had the last 2 sessions in dry conditions - great way to end the 2-day event.
I ran Hoosier Wets Monday, the first day, as it was steady rain all day. I think I was the only one using them as I pulled away from everyone except an excellent driver in a Panamera Turbo who crushed me on the straights and slid around the track on street tires - drifting around every corner.
Took the Wets off Tuesday morning as it was dry and sunny at start of 1st session - 10 minutes later it was white out. Didn't go back to Wets as they need water cooling from the wet track or they get hot and "disappear" very quickly. As I mentioned, the track got wet from the snow but not real wet so it was "intermediate" rain conditions which uses up the Wets too fast. Most in advanced / instructor sessions stuck with R6's, or street tires if they had them.
One day of rain and one day of wet, snowy conditions - a real advanced car control clinic. Unfortunately a few cars were towed away after incidents involving guard rails.

R-6s??? How did that work out?
Lainey-
C'mon, girl. Myles (almost) always shows us the slippery surface flag at the driver's meeting. You musta forgot. Of course, he's usually referring to oil or coolant, not snow!
