Wiring harness had melted and the ECU.  (still in the shop).  They  (Nissan) pointed towards a  prior service job by a local shop, but I am not buying it since that was over a year ago.  Biggest issues with the Titan is the transmission setup.  Even with the tow package the trans is not designed for the loads properly.  The engine is capable of towing anything and will putt along at 2500rpms, but the trans will not cool effectively as it is looking for additional rpms.  Other big issue is the torque convertor will not lock during this situation building more heat.  Jason Mahoney and I have seen the trans temps go pretty high on our trucks and revving the engine harder actually drops the trans temp back down, but that is a poor solution.   This situation is mainly with enclosed trailers.
