Tom Corbett for PA Governor

The purpose of  this letter is to ask you to support Tom Corbett who is the 2010 Republican Party candidate for the Governor of Pennsylvania. I have never written a letter like this before, but Tom has been a valued friend of mine for over twenty years, and with the economic and public challenges we face here in our state, I believe he is the most qualified candidate for this important position.


Our family moved to Chester County just twelve years ago. My lifelong residence before moving here was in Shaler Township, just outside of Pittsburgh.  This is where I first met Tom Corbett and his family.  Tom began his political career as a Commissioner in Shaler Township.  Tom and I worked tirelessly during his campaign to win over an incumbent Commissioner.


His public service actually started many years before.Tom Corbett began his career as a criminal prosecutor in Allegheny County as Assistant District Attorney. Following several years of private law practice, President George H. W. Bush appointed Tom to become the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania. In 1995, Governor Tom Ridge selected Tom to fill the vacancy in the Attorney General’s office for the duration of the term. It was not until 2004 that he ran a statewide campaign for Attorney General and won both highly contested primary and general election races.

Again in November 2008, during a challenging race for most incumbent candidates, he won re-election as Attorney General in a decisive fashion.  As Pennsylvania’s chief law enforcement officer, Tom has drawn strong bipartisan support for the office’s ongoing mission – making this Commonwealth a safer better place for families to live, work and raise a family.  


Tom Corbett believes his experience, qualifications and demonstrated commitment to public service have readied him to take on the challenges of the Governorship of Pennsylvania.  However, Tom needs resources to run a successful campaign.  He is less than 100 days away from the November election and needs your financial support.
