Updated possible cause of the crash "plastic road markers known as Botts' Dots could have contributed..." They are those embedded round lane markers (reflective) that you find along many roads.
The theory is that when traveling at a high rate of speed on high performance tires with limited tread, the car reacted similar to hydroplaning on ice.
