Actually, we have much better, at least within RTR. I have met more folks willing to help and teach than I can throw a micrometer at. From Mr. C helping with my transmission to Jim, Mike, and Myles helping with my first clutch replacement, help has always been a phone call away. Just come to the meetings and make some friends. Before long, you will have established a valuable network of informed motorheads.
We even have a loose-knit group of roving engine removers/installers.
RTR is awesome in this respect. There are a ton of mechanically minded folks who have the added benefit of being really nice.
I have made some of my best friends in this club while working on our cars.
