I have about five track days on my new Cayman S and as it worked out, most of them have been on NJMP's Thunderbolt. The tires are pretty chewed up at only 4000 miles. They are still usable but I won't get 10,000 miles out of them. The tires are Pirelli P-Zero summer tires and I like them a lot.

The last two times on Thunderbolt I noticed that the tires really scrub on the turns coming out of the octopus and going into the front straight. I wonder if I am doing something wrong though I can't see a way of not chewing the tires on those turns.

I am fairly new and have just starting driving solo so I know there is much more to learn. Also I have read posts that say you don't wear out tires if you know how to drive. I can't see it on this track I also know I will get smoother and faster with seat time.

I would like to hear what others on this forum have to say.
