What a scorcher! Despite the heat, we had a great time at the Oxford Valley Mall with the Philly SCCA. Drivers got 4 competition runs, plus another 6 or 7 fun runs at the end of the event. Additionally, I think we all got some great tans, and set a record for number of bottles of water consumed in one day.
Race times were very competitive. I'd like to give a huge shout out to Shawn Black who put up a blistering fourth run and took the SCCA first place trophy for the Riesentoter PCA group at the event (SCCA PAX classifications).
Just to reflect how close things were, we split the podium, as I still managed to edge Shawn in the Riesentoter PAX system (borrowed from GGR PCA). I believe this is Shawn's first SCCA class win and first second-place RTR championship series finish. What a thrill it was for us all to see Shawn at the top of the podium, and for me to split first place finishes with him.

Competition is heating up! Will Robert's new tires exhibit more grip once he breaks them in? Will Shawn continue what appears to be his inevitable climb to the top? Will Marcus T. build on some of the incredible runs he had at his first event to disrupt the leaderboard? Once he gets used to them, will Carlo's new springs add a spring to his already fast runs? Will Nick B. ever show up to school us all like old times? Will Trevor, Anthony, Dave & Maggie get their priorities right by putting autocross events ahead of their weekend family and work responsibilities (hey, we are all getting sick of seeing Trevor's FABULOUS vacation photos; okay?)? Will Jean continue to win the most important prize - our hearts - by make us some more of those delicious cookies? Be sure to join us at the next event to find out!
