Preliminary Post

After much thought and research, my son and I have decided to sell our SWB 1965 Porsche 912, serial # 451155.
This car is a true US 1965, 912 delivered in Europe on July 2, 1965 to a Mr. John Roy Nelson of Washington State. It spent approximately a month in Europe before being shipped back via Porsche Cars North West, with some time at Sonauto in Paris and in Madrid.

Some of the specs:
• Original engine MISSING; we have searched high and low for engine # 740523 without success. I’ve reached out to both 912 people and 356 people in hopes of finding either the engine itself or the third piece. The engine currently in the car is a 1965 engine, # 741695 as told to me by a representative of PCNA, and is a big bore 1720cc according to the PO.
• Color Code 6402-B, Ruby Red. The car was painted by the PO in Guards Red without the clear coat, thus having a mat finish. He also added large meatballs to both sides and hood; these will be removed.
• 3 gauge car with MPH speedometer.
• Stebro exhaust

We were originally going to either restore it to stock as much as possible or hotrod it, but the costs involved, at least to us, did not make it a feasible project. This would make a great hot rod to drive the wheels off.

Overall Condition:

• Original 902/1 5 speed transmission with Jwest Rennshift, very smooth and quick.
• Strong 1720 cc 1965 engine, # 451695, pulls quickly without issues and moves the car nicely along
• 1968 5.5” chrome wheels with brand new (less than 75 miles) 185/70 Pirelli CN 36 tires; original 1965 4.5” chrome wheels are available.
• 1968 comfort seats with velour inserts.
• Original seatbelts are installed.
• Comes with many original parts, including heat exchanger and exhaust, at additional cost.
• H4 headlights and Cibie hood lights were installed by the PO.
• The following do not work: speedometer, odometer, horn (possibly fuse as it is connected)

There were some body work issues; at some point in its life, it was hit on the passenger side. These seem to have been repaired to the point where the car tracks straight without any pulling to the right or left. There is also some damage to the front and rear bumpers.

Photos and more info will be forthcoming. Price will be in the area of $32,000 - $34,000
