After a few moments more thought, I agree that running Shendandoah CCW (anticlockwise) is not a great idea, at least not for part of an event. This course can be pretty overwhelming for a new driver and I suspect even our advanced drivers have not had enough time with it to appreciate all the lines that make sense. Jack, I'd love to hear more about "the conventional line is dead wrong on many of its corners."
