As a Porsche enthusiast, I've always appreciated the idea that the true measure of a sports car is not horsepower nor is it straight line acceleration.  Rather, I have felt that handling and braking are the more virtuous traits, making all the Porsches I've owned feel and seem superior to any other products on the market.  Well, I've had a bit of an epiphany.

I picked this 2006 Dodge Viper at the auction yesterday.  I now have developed a better appreciation for the concept of horsepower without reason.  This car sounds like an off shore race boat.  I'm not sure it would be my car of choice for the Carousel at Summit (nor Patrick's for that matter), but I'm giving serious thought to an evening at Atco to truly understand the American mentality.

Admit it, it frustrates you when someone asks you the 0-60 time on your car after you just spent all your money on products from PAGID, Bilstein, Hoosier, Kalani, etc rather than Borla and Sunonco.  A ride in this V10 510 BHP, 580 LBFT of Torque menace gives you a peek into the American Mentality.  I must admit, I get it.  All said and done, though I wouldn't trade my P-Cars for the world.
