Interesting discussion on Rennlist (http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/sh...p?t=377758) about what people pay for pre-DE tech inspections. It's $20 at Riesentöter's Saturday tech, $50 and up at a shop or dealer, but many in other regions (Potomac, for one) are getting tech inspections done for free.

I have no qualms about paying a shop the ½ hour charge or so to pull the wheels and check the items on our form, so I'm very surprised to read that so many shops and even dealers do that work for free, or a tip to the mechanic. Has this changed in our region over time? How can the shops afford to do even that small amount of work for free?
