You're right, Brian. A gooseneck, even more than a fifth wheel, makes the bed hard to use for anything. This would be a dedicated tow vehicle for me, though, so I do not forsee using the bed for much. The gooseneck trailer trades open bed space for covered space in the attic over the bed when towing.

I'll be roaming the paddock at SP this weekend with my tape measure.
