Here's a 1/2 hour clip of the last time I was at the Glen in my GT3.  Lots of traffic in the begining, and a good look at some open track laps at the end.  Check out this url: http://www.streamload.com/LarryHerman/Tr...e_Glen.wmv

Larry,

Very nicely done!

As I stated on another forum, I watch it often and burned a copy for Sharon and I  to watch and compare to our video. Learning never ends.

Yes, un-voluntary vacation from DE that is.

I have a string of bad luck this year.

I finally got new 245/17 MPSC in the front and was extremely happy with them at a NASA Summit Point event.  I was so happy with the new front grip that god send two nails to ruin it.

I got a new job which I like but it demands a lot of my time.

However, I'll be back in force when you see me at the track next time.

Mike, last year we ran 3 longer sessions (30 min. I think) vs. the 21 minute sessions for this year.   I was wondering about the decision as the longer session allows for a few additional laps to get the drivers into more of a rhythm and for the cars to really start to perform.

Either way, the Glen is still a great track.

Steve,

I guess it's hard to find a mix that 175 people agree on.  A number of people commented last year that they liked the shorter run groups better....  I myself like the longer run groups but feel, as I'm not driving, I shouldn't let my preferences cloud my decisions.

Remind me during the drivers meeting on Sunday and we'll take a show of hands to see what we want to do for 2007.

Three days and counting.....

Mike

as always, thanks Mike.

I agree that the longer sessions with a longer track allows you to get into a good flow, especially with the traffic in some of the run groups.

Friday will not get here soon enough.

See you then,

I think shorter runs is better when the weather is on the 90's...

Especially with shorter sessions it is important for people coming off the track to not lollygag as they drive to pit in. WGI is a big track that allows some good speeds still without using the brakes. It is also important for the next group to grid in time to get right out on the track, but that we can each control. Mike, please consider reminding the drivers at each meeting to exit the track promptly, acknowledging the corner workers as they go.

Tony, I was in a hurry to get to the track walk that Zone 1 postponed, so I ignored those slow down signs. At least I would have ignored them had I not been on the phone. At least now I've wired a headset to my new phone that might work in my (noisy) car. NY does have a handsfree requirement....
