That is where I first saw it Lou. 

I really think that this lift as an awesome compromise.  I especially like the fact that  you can install multiple mounting locations within multiple garages with very little effort and then just move the lift if you want to.

maxjack looks cool... but something about it makes me nervous. not sure I'd trust my life under that thing.  that's a pretty long lever arm and a lot of weight pulling on four bolts in your concrete floor.

I would be too, but there are 5 bolts so it must be ok.

Actually, upon further reflection, it was Doug-E-Fresh that slapped down this idea.

I bought a Rotary Brand scissor lift this winter and I could not be happier with the build quality and the fact the the rear of the lift is open which makes service on the rear of my 964 very easy. Although my street car is at street ride hight, I had to build a ramp with 2x 10's to clear the pads on the lift. You are welcome to come over and see it, just drop me a PM.

Here are a couple links from "the Garage Journal" web forum specifically about the MaxJax lift. There are numerous other threads on this sight about the MaxJax as well as a great many other types of lifts. Probably TMI, but it should help you make a decision. I'm partial to two post lifts  because my car is a front engine/rear transaxle design. If access to the complete under body of your car is a factor, and height is not, a twin post lift may be a better solution in the long run.

Sorry that I am late to the party.  One of the advantages of the lift that Lou has is that it is completely portable, and can easily be rolled to another location.  I was even thinking of one so that I could lift the cars outside & clean the undercarriage & motors more easily.

As far as the MaxJax goes, I wonder how many would actually move it around, bolting and unbolting it constantly.  I think that once the novelty wore off, it would stay setup and the rest of the garage would get re-arranged to suit.  If that was the case, I'd rather have a true twin post permanently installed & cut down to fit (if needed) or a scizzor lift permanently set in the floor & completely out of the way when in the down position.
