I also use Teamtech as recommended by Brian and have been satisfied with them. Regarding Hans compatibility, I originally used 3" shoulder harnesses with my Hans and it worked O.K. but I sent them back and had the area that contacted the Hans reduced to 2" width. If I did it again, I would specify a 2" shoulder harness.

For an economical solution, you can buy (1) camlock, G-Force for $155 for the driver, and for the passenger side (1) latch & link, G-Force for $75!

I just bought this combo 3 weeks ago from http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/ and got free shipping!

Lou, Very helpful. Took a quick look at the G-Force harnesses listed, and I didn't notice any of them being specifically designed for use with a HANS device. Also, I wonder whether, if I purchased the camlock G-Force for me and the latch & link for the passenger, it would be regarded as complying with the following rules requirement: "Restraints and seating must be equal and similar for both the student/driver and instructor/passenger." Larry

I read those rules and my interpretation is that both restraints are equal! The only difference that I recognize is the ease of putting it on, and being in White, I would usually be alone for 11 out of 12 sessions (except the 1 Blitz session where the instructors jump in, and I'm not going anywhere till he's fully buckled and adjusted). Each one is SFI 16.1 certified, have the same width straps, are fastened the same, and really release with the same ease. In fact, the L&L is preferred, and or required by some racing sanctioned events like dirt tracks because there is less chance of the release jamming from dirt, which could seize up the camlock. What about 2 different type seats, the driver with head bolsters, and the passenger without?

Now, I have a question, if the passenger has a HANS, and I don't (and my belts are not, nor do they have to be HANS compatible) are we equal? Of course, I would never deny an instructor the use of his Hans if he rode along, or drove my car with me in the passenger seat.

Tech....what's the call?

Guy's, the word is equal. Simple explanation no mixing of "types". No 3 point on one side and a harness on the other. No stock seat designed for a conventional belt and a seat designed to use harnesses. Whether or not a harness is designed with a HANS device in mind does not bear. Any kind of harness will work with a HANS, some just not as efficiently.

Larry, if you change you mind about the 5pt harness, I have a pair that are in excellent condition that are valid through next season that I will part with.

Sorry! Hadn't cleaned out old messages and coincidentally just reached capacity. Would appreciate it if you would try again. Thanks.
