This would be very cool.

Any further word on Alpine? They got their final approval a few months ago, but I don't know if they have any financing: http://www.alpinesignature.com/news.html

Track design looks good, especially the independence circuit.  Independence has both increasing and decreasing radius turn whether run clockwise or counter-clockwise.  Does anyone know if elevation changes are planned?

Its alive!!! (or so it seems)  Does anyone have information on Liberty's plans other than those posted in this news report?  Could some of our legal experts comment on any future roadblocks for Liberty's creation (other than financial)?

According to their website and news articles, ground breaking will take place in Spring 2011.

Now, what will kill this idea is the fact that we are in the midst of a depression.  It would take a lot of guts to move forward, not to mention that the banks would most likely not want to lend for this project.

But stranger things have happened.

The fellow who heads up Business Development for them (name escapes me presently) said that they expected to be open "in the Spring of 2012". Not sure what Lou is doing for financing in this environment, but they seem to have added a bunch of staff since they cleared the last court case.

Who knows whether they're sticking with the advertised layout or going to do it in stages. Only thing I do know is that they haven't been real aggressive in pursuing individual memberships

They've hired an architect. So maybe there is hope something will be moving ahead.
