Street legal DE car = bad on the street, bad on the track Smile
Mustang Fox body. Can't be beat. Best bang for the buck and the cheapest to build. I only have 10K in my cp. Those that have seen it run can attest to how fast it is . If you want I can help you with the build as I have built 10 so far. The latest is my 92 cp street legal race car. 520Hp and 502Tq in an 1750lb car.

Absolutely! But it must be a later version, with a 289 and Rack and Pinion. The early versions had a 260 and non-rack and pinion steering.

I would also consider a TVR Griffith and an R1 Studebaker Avanti with a Supercharger and a four-speed.

Chris,

A couple of years ago, there was a fellow at North Jersey AX events with one of those Grifiths.............. very fast, as long as he had fresh Hoosier slicks, otherwise the car was all over the place, and I would beat him.

i call 'BS' on this one; i've never, ever EVER heard of a Fox bodied mustang (or any mustang) weighing in at 1750lbs. thats 250 lbs LESS than my honda civic, and it is TOTALLY stripped to the bone, with a lightweight all aluminum 4 cyl drivetrain! no way you've got a mustang V8 down to 1750 lbs. impossible....... ???

I watched the videos of Thunderbolt.......... Nice driving. You use the same line as I do thru the octopus, tight. I enter turn 5 at the middle of the track once I get the most out of turn 4, and thus in turn 5, I wind up covering less ground. there is plenty of track out coming out of 5.

I like the racepack video display!

It's on online racing simulator called iRacing.  Runs on your PC (just need to buy a force feedback wheel/pedal set and probably upgrade your video card).
