Mechanic Recommendations

I am looking for a 911 mechanic in Bucks Co. (Doyelstown) area.  I have an  Intermechanica 356 “D? Model Replica with a 911 engine/trans that needs some engine work.  Would any one like to recommend their mechanic?  I need one that likes to work on something out of the norm.

Thank You

Rocky

Dougherty helped save my weekend last month when I ran into a small problem last month. I'm sure they could help you. I would suggest doing a search, there are alot of reputable shop in your area.

Have you every thought of DIY? Big Grin

Doylestown to West Chester is a good hour drive

Unfortunately there are not any good independent shops in the northern suburbs.

Agree with catchacab.  Most of the shops are in the West Chester Area or on the Main Line.  If the drive does not put you off, then it looks like this job would e right for either Chris Radbill(always working on older stuff) or Tilson's(experts on classic cars).

Bob Fox in ambler has been given very good recommendations for engine and transmission work.

I was at Holberts today.  They were working on a 914 and two SC's.

Fox has worked on my car for 6 years without any complaints.  His prices are reasonable and the work is thorough.  An elderly gentleman, he has been working on 911s (literally) for as long as they've been built.  I would trust him with an early model, carbs or mechanical fuel injection.  I know a couple of other guys who take their cars there as well.

I finally found a post where I could contribute in a manner that might be helpful. I didn't notice the original request was about 5 years old.  not to worry, i'll probably go back into hibernation
