Do you think a pro sports player, playing a game, should be paid more money than the teacher of your children.

1 salary of a player could pay the teachers of a complete school district for a year.

Now thats not right.

Totally agreed!

For the most part, a professional athlete(Football, Baseball, Basketball) is hardly higher than a Barnyard Animal on the Evolutionary scale.

Dave,

I was a Philadelphia public school teacher for 12 years and I was grossly underpaid.  That being said, I am surprised that you would support a socialist policy like paying school teachers more money, presumably from tax dollars, rather than the free market which provides for high athlete salaries.  High athlete salaries are a statement about consuming Americans, not the government.

Well lets see, I pay money to see a bunch of grown men and woman play a game OR I pay more money to teachers to teach my kids. Seems like a no brainier to me. I don't have any kids never will don't want any. But am still pissed off at the education system and high salaries these athlete's get paid It is all a waist of money.

Sorry guys, for me to support teachers getting paid more money I'd like to see higher educational standards and better quality teachers.

I have several teachers for neighbors and none of them are the sharpest knives in the drawer. Knowing these idiots makes me seriously consider private school for my kids when they get to that age.

I couldn't support high teacher salaries (and higher property taxes as a result) unless we clear out the dead wood, bring in higher quality teachers, and improve the thing that is loosely called a curriculum.

To get quality you need to pay more, without it you will get dull knives every time.

Test for teachers knowledge and pay them accordingly.
