When I cold-start my car, maybe if its been sitting 2 days, my idle is nuts. It goes down to almost stalling then (what sounds like) goes up past 1100, it does this until i put my foot on the gas and get it warmed up then runs smooth. Heres some info. I guess I have a bad reference sensor because my tach doesnt work, but will that affect my idle? Ive also gone through and done all of the vacuum lines with silicone ones.

How about changing the oil? Big Grin

In all seriousness, what components have you checked this time? I still believe that the MAFS is the culprit, you are just now experiencing different symptoms than before.

I've been thinking about the description of the problem that your car is having. I don't know if your car has one but if so it may be worth while of putting one in. Have you checked the engine coolant temp sensor? A similar problem happened to me years ago in my Jetta. The damn thing would not hold an even idle and while at stop lights I would have to feather the accel. pedal to keep the engine from cutting out. I had the ECTS replaced, no more problems. Just another suggestion if changing the oil didn't fix the car.

TPS needed to be adjusted, the Idle stabilizer wasnt running right when the butterfly opened it sayed on. Car starts up and idles fine now, although something that has got me thinking is my fuel pressure keeps bouncing from 30-34 rapidly, idles smooth slightest of hesitation while under boost in the beginning maybe 1.2 bar after that smooth.
