I took delivery of the raffle car on 9/26 and we spent the following week driving the car around Switzerland, Italy and other surrounding countries.  Jen and I had a great time and put just shy of 2000 miles on the car (nice break-in period).  We spent most of the time in Switzerland going up and down mountain passes.  The car should be back in the states sometime in December, just in time for Christmas.

Still undecided on selling the 951 and putting the Carrera on the track...

Forum seems to be having trouble uploading images, let's try this a different way:

Greg,

Do not beat on the new car at the track! Keep driving the 951 an enjoy it for what it is.

Greg,

Pics dont show.  Perhaps they are to big and need to be reduced in size to be visible on the forum.

Thanks, the ones I uploaded to the forum were just showing as black images, so I'm linking out to external ones but Picasa was being weird.  See if it works now.  If not just check out the slideshow here:

Great pics and a beauty of a car!

I agree you should keep the 951 and enjoy the 997 for now.  There will be plenty of time down the line to make her a track beast.... :dude:

Greg,

Great photos and nice meeting you at T-bolt this weekend.   I love the new front and rear LEDs!My guess is that you will have the car before Thanksgiving and opportunity to drive it before snow flies.

Regarding tracking the 997 over the 951, it's a personal choice but I urge you to preserve the 997.   The two of you will treasure the memories from your trip every time you drive the car.   We all know the abuse cars take on the track and this car is too nice to sacrifice the aesthetics and the warranty at such a young age.

Josh - it's nice to hear a track guy admitting to the aesthetic toll that putting a car on the track puts on your car.

The number of times I've had people try to convince me that my paint work will not get messed up by tracking my car.... and if I were to believe that, then I'd be gullible enough to buy Lehman Brothers stock right now. Big Grin
