An announcement has just been sent to Doug Mahoney for posting on the web; the text follows:

Country Caravan VIII, October 21, 2006   This year's excursion through some of Pennsylvania's glorious fall foliage country will be a run for charity. There will be a deductible charitable entrance fee of $35.00, per car, benefiting Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. The Caravan will be limited to fifteen cars and usually fills up fast.   We will depart Wegman's parking lot in Allentown at 10:30 am and drive the wonderful curvy back roads through scenic country and forest lands. The trip will be designed not only to view the scenery but to treat your Porsche to the challenging roads for which it was designed. Those arriving early at Wegman's may wish to treat themselves to coffee and fresh pastries, etc. If you've never been to a Wegman's food market it is worth allowing time just to browse the store.   We will arrive around 4:00 for a sumptuous Italian buffet dinner at Macaluso's in Nesquehoning, PA, just north of Jim Thorpe. The cost of the dinner will be $20.00 per person including tax, gratuity, and nonalcoholic beverages, there will be a cash bar.   For further information or registration please contact:   Ken Souser 5696 Merion Lane Macungie, PA 18062 Home: 610-966-4391 Mobile: 610-533-6123KenSouser@aol.com

Ken,

I cannot make this run, I have a previous commitment.

Ken's runs are very nicely planned and the food is always to notch.

FYI - If you are doing a run w/ Ken, do not bring a 356. He has no mercy on cars w/ less than 100 hp. Big Grin

Tony, if that's the case, I guess I shouldn't ask to borrow the 356 for the fall run :dude:

Tony:

There is plenty of "mercy" in the Fall run so people can peep the leafs -- the May weekend tends to fit the "German Bullet Train" idea.

Feel free to lend your 356 to Steve.
Ken

I just found out that I won't be able to make it. I've been looking forward to this for months. Sad
