Just yesterday I saw an illegal alien who was carrying billions of dollars worth of documents that he purchased with welfare proceeds and food stamps.

By the way, illegal immigration is a serious problem that can only be addressed if fiction is distinguished from fact.

But isn't it easier to kick down someone coming from a weaker position?  I mean, if we took the time to prosecute the real criminals on Wall Street and in DC, that would take balls and intelligence, neither of which are needed for knocking those less fortunate.

This topic will not be resolved.  As always it is simple politics:

1.  Farmers/ service industries etc. favor the cheap labor pool.

2.  Dems recognize the fact that this historically leads to votes.

 

Here are the truly "less fortunate" in all this:

1.  The taxpayer.  Resources are being siphoned that can be used for legit citizens.

2.  Border state inhabitants.  There has been a clear escalation in violence in association with drug trafficking, catching Americans in the crossfire.  There are now travel warnings within certain areas of this Country! 

3.  Legal immigrants. 

 

While I do not favor racial bias or profiling in any manner, I do think the rationale behind Arizona's push for enforcement of existing law is logical.  One can empathize with the need for this being a State's right to implement when those located safely several thousand miles away in D.C. lack the political desire to do so for fear of reprisal.

In Europe and elsewhere, a police officer can approach you at any time (without probable cause BTW) and request identification.  If you are unable to produce this they have the right to detain you until the situation is resolved.

Concerned about Wall Street crooks?  Is a particular crime more heinous just because the perp may be wealthy?  Why not tackle both problems!
