I love this video Smile I was going to post it but being that it was from an SCCA race I thought some might object.

Yes, it was because he gave the "not ready signal" when he waved at her, which puts you automatically at the back of the grid Sad So she was correct in holding him up, but since this was only his 2nd ever race, he didn't realize what he had done. Doesn't matter if you're the pole sitter, if you are not ready to go at the whistle, to the back you go.... In the SCCA you do your first 2 races wearing rookie stripes on your car--he had to do another race successfully to get rid of them. He went on to dominate in his class and I hear that he is a really nice guy, though the red mist clearly got the better of him there....

That's just not funny. I felt so sorry for the guy. It was too painful to watch. I didn't make it to the end.

The guy posted the video himself. If he can laugh at himself, I think it is ok if we join him.

I love the women trying to inch in front of his car toward the end to keep him from pulling out.

Wellard,

You should have seen the ending... he made it all the way up to the 10th starting position in a pack of 73 (!! I've heard VIR is big  Confusedhock: ), and finished the race in 3rd.  He shaved his head in protest Tongue They say he wears a hat that says I WAS SEVENTH! on the back, so I think he's OK with it Smile

Mike,

The complete story is he had q'd 7th and put in 6th and attempted to let the proper car go in front of him.  His rookie race.  Was DQ'd of course.  Since then has dominated his class.  The video is retaliation from the other guys in his class who just can't get by him.  I believe King Rat was the first to post this 2 years ago (he has a speed shop very near Summit and I have used him for mechanical/tire mounting) funny guy and great to know at SP.

When the official tells you to go, go.  Doesn't matter what the grid position is.

I find it funny that he got so upset.  He is racing for a piece of "wood".  lol!

I was gridded in class in P21 this summer when I qualified P2.  The other guys in my class were way more upset than I was.  I had a great time.  I made 17 race passes for position and over 40 during the race including backmarkers.  I could've gotten upset because sure I wanted to race for the win but my driving would have suffered because of it.

Point is at this level it's all for fun.  No reason to take it too seriously.  He would've had a great learning experience charging through all the backmarkers.
