Folks....

I need to put my car on a dyno and am told there are two types/manufactures: Mustang and Dyno Jet (If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me).  I have had several pulls done on a Mustang, but apparently NASA uses a Dyno Jet, so this is what I am looking for.  Does anyone know of a local outfit with a Dyno Jet?

Dan, 

Swarr Automotive.   They read a little high meaning if you pull 250 it will yield a little less at the portable dyno, but not much.  Maybe 1 to 2hp.  The portable dyno is a Dynojet and they will run up to 3 pulls if your checked.  Really important you get a safe assessment for all your hard work.   I have to go there again as does, Darren, and Glen.  We could get a decent rate by blocking some time.  

Also, know your gearing.  You need to run as close to 1:1 as you can.  My 6th gear is actually 1:02 so I use that.  Running a lower gears yields a higher hp result which is not how the other cars are checked.

Midatlantic is very active with the dyno at the track and I have been checked twice.  Fortunately,  it was free and it confirmed that my car was having problems when it only pulled 228hp.

I know a couple guys that are interested in a Dyno day.  Probably three or four at least.  Curious minds want to know.

Bill Cooper used to run a Dyno Day yearly, but he told me that lack of attendance in recent years led to its demise.

I would sign up for another chance to dyno my car.

The consideration for a host site would be whether a 2-wheel or 4-wheel would be the better option.

Unfortunately, with my work and home duties, I would not be able to organize the event.

I have 3 friends with dynojet dynos they are the best in the industry. They are inertia based dynos very accurate. They calculate their hp # on the ability to accelerate the mass of the roller. Based on the rate of acceleration of the roller is how hp #s are established. I have performed back to back dyno pulls on one of my Ford Mustangs. On the dyno jet it made 596 rwhp on a mustang dyno (eddy current style dyno) it made 617rwhp. The 617 is great for bragging but I trust the dyno jets number as the real number. I will talk to them and I am sure I can make a dyno day happen this winter.

My ESP is not working this AM.  Who are your contacts with the Dynos?  One closer to the King of Prussia area as oppossed to farther would be great.  Thanks!

Phoenix Performance (where Possum Hollow is located) has a very nice all-wheel Dyno Jet. I'm sure Joe Aquilante and/or Bill Boys would be willing to have a dyno day. For those who don't know where Possu Hollow is located, it's Phoenixville, PA.

I'm interested as well.  I have dyno sheets from when I bought the car but I do not feel the power is there after the case bolt and subsequent rebuild.  But then running with GT3's, turbos and cup cars makes you think you are in reverse.
