That made my day George, thanks!

I'm banned from attending car shows.  Big Grin

Just got word last week that the R8 5.2 GT3/clubsport version is a go though US sales are still under consideration.  If all goes well, it'll be due out later this year.  Stay tuned....

I'm curious how others feel about the Panamera's styling.  It seems to be growing on me, in part I believe because it is so different appearing from other sedans.

As critical as I am, I was prepared to hate the Panamera. But when I saw some at POML the other day, I thought they looked way better in real life, as opposed to photos. It actually looks like a stretched 911. Not bad at all. Much better than the crap that Lexus and Infinity try to pawn off as "performance sedans".

I was over-hearing some of the spectator comments about the Panamera's styling.  Many said the interior was cramped and felt tight.  The gear selector (PDK) knob does sit up a bit high in the console, but I'm not claustrophobic so it didn't bother me.
As for the front of the car, it was next to impossible to get a decent photo of the car... there were so many people there.

I'm thinking because it's a new release, that the Panamera is a love-it/or/hate-it type of design.  Sort of like the controversial Cadillac Seville when it was introduced in the early '80's.  You either loved it or hated it.  Eventually, it did grow on you, though.

Eric-
Glad you could attend the car show through the forum (LOL) Big Grin
The spyder version of the Audi R8 looked spectacular.
What do you think of them?

George,

Thanks for the virtual experience to catch up with the show.  Great photo essay.  I saw a handful of Panamera Turbos at Daytona this weekend and they are certainly growing on me.

Oh Yeah! In my excitement I forgot to comment on the Spyder.... What a stunning car. My only (trivial) comment is that it would be nice to have had a clear engine cover since the mechanical layout is a work of art in itself. Bottom line is that I can think of no reason to buy a Lambo Gallardo!

Seems like there is a lot of unanimity about the Panamera. I agree about the PDK interface though, the good news here is that the paddles will become available as an option. I must resist the temptation.......
