Thanks for the friendly welcome from the club members (esp. Debbie who came outside in the cold to see our 1970 Targa) -- at the Sunday breakfast at Dougherty's!

I don't know what I enjoyed more- meeting you all or looking at all the cars in the garage. What a great place to hold a breakfast meeting! I hope we have more meetings here...

Very nice: http://www.doughertyautomotive.com/data/porsche.html

Cheers,
Diane

Welcome to the club Diane.

While I wasn't at Dougherty's I had to comment on how nice your Targa is. The 911 is the only car I have ever admired in brown paint. Somehow, to my eyes, it manages to look good in brown while other marques never quite do for me.

What's your background with the car? Original owner, restored, inquiring minds want to know.

Hi there,

We are proud new owners of this Targa 911T!!  I really wanted this car in this color and we found it (locally actually)....great story- car was kept in Vermont and well loved/taken care of-- all original.  We are really happy to have it -and keep it in great condition.

It's actually Burgundy. It's dark so it looks like chocolate almost. My husband Joe and I are hoping to show it, enjoy it and even take it up to Vermont next year for the parade.  We are also looking forward to participating in club activities.  We may not drive it to every local event, but most of them. We can't wait to enjoy it this year. As we just got it in September.

Thanks for the compliment!
Diane

No this one doesn't have the removable back window (those were very, very rare).

Welcome Diane. I'm a fairly new member myself, and believe you will find the Porsche Club crew just about the nicest folks you'll ever want to hang with. Since I'm not into racing/trackevents/AX but love Porsche's for their engineering prowess and beauty, we'll hopefully meet at the social events.  Mark your calendar for the Welcome Spring Breakfast just down the road from you at Molly Maguire's in Phoenixville on Sunday, April 11. Also make sure you alert the Social Chair as the establishment needs a head count a couple days before. Until then....

Bud

Hi Bud,

I look forward to meeting you! We RSVPed for the breakfast. And of course we're hoping for good weather to bring the car.

I too admire Porsches for their engineering. I like track events (but never personally raced). I went for a track ride at Beave Run in Pittsburgh in a Ferrari Mondena (at speeds over 125 with a man who looked like Steve Martin at the wheel- great guy -and funny) and realized that same day that I also enjoy autocrosses...

...I've done one autocross and that was in a Honda S2000 in the rain and it was a blast!!

This car will be a completely new/different experience. It's so much fun to drive! My dream is to drive this Targa on the Glen (silly dream- but it would be so neat to take her out on this amazing historical track): http://www.theglen.com/About-The-Glen/Hi...-Glen.aspx

See you soon,
Diane
