Time for new tires form my '98 993.  I am reading good things about these and Tire Rack has a $75 rebate, so four would cost <$650.  Anyone have any experience with them, or a recommendation?

Thanks,

Chuck

CJ's Tire (a RTR supporter) will usually match any Tire Rack or Discount Tire price. The rebates are from the manufacturer, so they still apply.

I use the CJ's Tire in Kimberton (610-933-5984), ask for Greg Schaffer (Asst. Mgr) and tell him you're a Porsche Club member and request the price match. Remember to bring a print-out of Tire Rack's web page with the tires you want for pricing proof.

You can also use me as a reference if you wish (Dave Redmond from Euro-Tech Auto Brokers). Hope this helps.

I would prefer to support CJ's, expecially since they are such a big supporter of PCA.  But, I think they purposely located their stores to be as far away from Newtown as possible!  However, your note may cause me to rethink them as a viable alternative.

The purpose of my letter was to solicit input about my potential tire choice.  I was wondering if anyone had any direct experience with the ADVAN AD08s?

Thanks again for your input.

Chuck

I used the AD07s on my Lotus (OEM tire) and they were great.

What is nice about Tire Rack is that the tires can be shipped directly to your installer.  That way you are still supporting a local business.

I wonder how local installers REALLY feel about that.  To me, that's like walking into a diner, handing the cook some eggs and cheese, and asking them to cook me an omelette....  Any local installers care to weigh in on this topic?

What would be the problem?  They get to charge you for the install and make a few bucks.  My technician loves dealing with Tire Rack.  I dealt with TR at HIS suggstion.

Wow.  I'm surprised, but that is good information to know.  Thanks for the input.

Don't forget, Tire Rack does not include inhstallation costs.  Anyway the type of tire you buy depends on what you are planning to use them for.  Competition tires should be addressed to Joe Spect at the CJ store in Birdsboro and have them shipped to any CJ facility.
