Is camping an option for the weekend of July 30? Do they have showers available?

Stay at Watkins Glen state park.  It is across the street from Seneca Lodge, and its showers are much nicer than the Track's.

There are showers but RTR doesn't normally pay the extra money to allow people to camp at The Glen for our events.  The reason is that not enough people like to camp out.

It's just nice to be at the track already and not have to travel anywhere.

exactly. we were hoping to camp at the track - just more "fun" to be there and not have to go out or make sure to get up and get to the track.

I didn't realize the group had to pay for the track to be open to camping. I just figured it was always open for camping if they had it. Good to know. Thanks.

If someone is staying at the track over night, 24 hour security is required to unlock the gate in the case of emergency. This service carries an additional fee on the track rental agreement.

We're at site #151 Oneida Village , Watkins Glen State Park.

I think we just need to get a list of people who want to camp and present our case.  Of course too late for this event...

Well regardless, all of the hotels are booked and all of the campgrounds, including the state park, are booked.  I was thinking about coming up but I can't find anyplace to stay.
