Has anyone done a trip to the Nurburgring, rented a nice car and done a couple laps? Found a couple travel agency's like fastlanetravel.com, but they are out of my budget.

Yes, several of us here have done so. If you can swing the travel to FRA there are reasonably cheap ways to do it. Major variable is whether you want to just drive around slowly on a tourist day or learn to drive it quickly in which case you need to be there for an exclusive day (similar to a DE day with RTR, but usually without run groups) and you should get some instruction.

Place I have found that offers both is rsrnurburg.com . What places have you used? Would like to do more of a trackday, which they offer. Cheapest place I have found thus far with a nice selection of vehicles to choose from, priced accordingly.
