Hello, everyone.

I'll soon be buying a 1983 944 from a friend.  Can anyone please recommend some good repair shops in or near Center City, Philadelphia?  I'd like to take the car for a check up and then, of course, have a good place to go to in the unlikely event Big Grin that I'll need repairs.

Many thanks.

Thanks very much, Darren.

Any other suggestions, perhaps closer to Northern Liberties or in South Philly near the Delaware?

Click for: Woodlawn Foreign Car Service, 454 W Woodlawn St,
Philadelphia, PA 19144. It's 1½ blocks to the Chelten Septa commuter rail station, so I drop the car off and get the train into town.

Click HERE for the Yelp reviews.

I have also taken my Porsche to Tillson, and they are very good, but Woodlawn has been a more convenient location for me.

That's great, Chris.  Many thanks.

I don't want to press my luck but any places closer to the Delaware?

Thanks.

I'm wondering whether any forum members have had experiences with European Motor Works at 721 N 2nd Street in Philly.

Thanks.

We had a shop in CC 22nd and Walnut for 60 years so I can say I know most of the good shops in Phila.

European Motor Works:  hacker shop use only in an emer.

+1 for Tillson and Woodlawn

There is no shop I would take a Porsche to in your part of town.

I thought I'd reply to my own message to say that I've had a lot of work done at Reds and Son at 338 N. 13th Street. They do a lot of work on German cars. They've been terrific. I recommend them with confidence.

Tillson and Woodlawn are the go-to guys as mentioned above. Both have great reputations and both owners are active in the club, so it just comes down to which one you get along with better.
